Regulatory Compliance Specialist, School Nutrition ProgramRESPONSIBLE TO
Director, School Nutrition ProgramJOB CLASSIFICATION

Non -Exempt 219 Day Work CalendarESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervises and manages the School Nutrition Program Free/Reduced meal application process and meal counting systems to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Provides technical support to cafeteria managers and School Nutrition Program staff.QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. (A combination of experience and education may be considered to meet the Bachelor's Degree requirement.); Computer coursework in support of computer proficiency preferredLicenses/Certificates:
Experience:
Minimum two years secretarial/clerical/general office experience required (to include record-keeping, filing, routine correspondence). Regulatory compliance (free and reduced benefit) program experience and associated training strongly preferred.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance Demonstrates an extensive knowledge of Child Nutrition Program guidelines and regulations that are governed by the United States Department of Agriculture and Georgia Department of Education; Maintains knowledge and practices accuracy within state regulations Process and scan meal benefit applications; communicate approval status with appropriate audience(s). Perform audits of scanned and processed applications to verify accuracy of application processing. Maintain audit review records and corrective action plans to ensure compliance with Federal regulations and guidelines. Implements verification process of free/reduced applications to ensure compliance with Federal regulations and guidelines. Assist with gathering all information necessary for School Nutrition audits performed by government and regulatory agencies Provide support for the free/reduced benefit out-reach programs (foster, homeless, migrant youth, and runaway). Enter/manage the Direct Certification list into the computer and sends letters home Provide school administrators with necessary information relevant to Title funding, severe needs, and Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) Coordinate with Technology Services to ensure the timely and accurate import of free/reduced application codes into the student data records Maintains and submits necessary paperwork for the CACFP program Update central office and school sites POS Facilitate coordination and communication between student database, School Nutrition back of the house and POS systems Update and maintain web data for department both internally and externally Troubleshoot and provide technical support to managers for Point of Service, Back of the House and other software issues Process student fund transfers Track and submit incentive points from vendors and ordering marketing materials and promotions Provide clerical support to School Nutrition Director and other staff as needed Communicate with kitchen managers, administration and parents concerning student eligibility questions Maintain confidentiality of information and records for students and staff Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records; file reports promptly Maintain and update fixed asset records of kitchen equipment including equipment purchase and disposal Performs other duties as assignedSkills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Familiarity with Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 Proficient in computer operations commonly found in office environments (Excel, MS Word, Publisher). Familiarity with student information systems Demonstrated ability to communicate efficiently and effectively in a professional manner (both written and verbal) Effective organizational and clerical skills Proficient in basic math computation skills Ability to function as a collaborative team member and contributor toward department success Ability to multi-task and work effectively independently (i.e., with minimal supervision/direction)Working Conditions:
The work environment is usually very quiet. Tight reporting timelines and short completion deadlines drive many of the routine function activities. Intermittent interactions with public and other staff members occur throughout the workday.Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and use fingers. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
