Overview Job Summary The Lead Leave and Accommodation Coordinator supports the Leave and Accommodation Compliance Manager to ensure compliance and consistency in practices, training, and standards related to employee leaves of absence and workplace accommodations. This role also leads internal audits and reporting processes to support compliance with federal, state, and company policies. Delivers training, identifies process improvements, manages escalated issues and mentors other leave team members. Typical Duties and Responsibilities Partner with the Compliance Manager to interpret, administer, and ensure consistent, company-wide adherence to all federal, state, and local leave and accommodation laws, including FMLA, ADA, and other related regulations. Act as the first point resolution for escalated and complex leave and accommodation inquiries, providing expert guidance and problem-solving assistance to the leave team, leave administrator vendor and management across all locations (retail, warehouse, and office). Support the resolution process for escalated leave and accommodation inquiries, ensuring clear and consistent communication and coordination with management and personnel clerks from initial request through return to work. Direct and conduct internal audit activities, analyzing and reporting findings and feedback to Management and the Compliance Manager. Propose and implement recommendations to enhance overall compliance and operational efficiency. Develop, maintain, update and deliver departmental training aligned with current policies, procedures, and best practices. Assess training needs, identify knowledge gaps, and implement improvements to enhance engagement, knowledge retention, and compliance. Manage departmental reporting to ensure accurate and timely information is available for decision-making. This includes pending reports and L&O Note reports. Coordinate the onboarding and training of new team members, ensuring a clear understanding of roles, responsibilities, and procedures. Coordinate and support testing activities to validate program functionality and resolve issues in partnership with management and stakeholders. Identify opportunities for process and workflow improvements and implement solutions to increase team effectiveness. Provide support and expertise in administering and processing routine FMLA, ADA, state leaves, military leaves, Personal Leave of Absence Policy, and other related policies as needed. Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
