Job Description
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Trade Compliance Analyst, working with our global trade compliance manager to ensure worldwide import and export compliance. As a US manufacturer, SEL imports components and exports our products used in utility and industrial applications around the globe. Our compliance programs follow our principles of operation to practice unquestionable ethics and compliance with the pertinent regulations. Reporting through the law department, you will execute and improve compliance programs in conjunction with our logistics team in all aspects of global trade compliance. As a Trade Compliance Analyst, a typical day might include the following: Under Trade Compliance Manager's direction and supervision, perform assigned daily activities in support and furtherance of SEL's Trade Compliance Program as defined in the company compliance manuals. Evaluate import/export transactions and documentation for issues impacting expeditious and compliant international shipping of SEL' s products and drive problem resolution. Classify products, software and technology, research and apply various Rules of Origin, maintain and update HS, ECCN and COO database(s). Create, review and approve commercial data elements and documentation as needed. Interface and communicate internally and externally to ensure efficient transactional support and adequate control infrastructure regarding importing, exporting and Dangerous Goods shipping. Conduct proper management and documentation of preferential trade or special treatment programs. Assist the Trade Compliance Manager with auditing, corrective actions, training, recordkeeping and other applicable compliance controls. Other duties and special projects as assigned. This job might be for you, if you: Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in International Business, International Trade or related field Have a minimum of 5 years in an export or import compliance role Have experience with ECCN classifications of both tangible products and technical data Are able to understand, interpret and apply U.S. trade regulations Are able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Are self-motivated with the ability to simultaneously manage varying priorities Have strong data analysis, problem-solving and effective communication skills Are computer savvy with proficiency in Excel and internet research Are able to pass background check and drug test Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with Encryption controls and Technology Control Plans Deemed export rule knowledge and experience CUSECO or similar

Pay Range Data - $80,200 - $112,400.00 Annually We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
