Job Description

General Description:
The Retirement Plan Consultant position will be trained to or will possess experience in providing recordkeeping and compliance services for various types of retirement plans including: 401(k), Profit Sharing, Defined Benefit, and Defined Contribution. This role will assist with retirement plan administration, team projects, and peer review among various other functions.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for aspects of recordkeeping client plans to ensure accurate processing in accordance with DOL standards and deadlines including: Reconcile asset balances (trust and participant accounts) and resolve discrepancies Perform plan calculations including eligibility, contributions, vesting, etc. Ensure compliance with plan document & IRS/DOL regulations, as well as plan administrative practices Participate in peer review process to ensure accuracy Prepare IRS Form 5500/SAR, audit packages, required compliance tests, including but not limited to:
  • ADP/ACP, Top Heavy, 402g, 410(b), 415 tests
  • Gather and reconcile required data
  • Manage deadlines and complete assigned portions of work load
  • Communicate with clients to respond to questions or requests for information
  • Complete special projects as applicable
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Statistics or Related Field Strong computer skills in Microsoft Systems including Excel Excellent mathematical aptitude Detailed oriented Strong organization skills Multi-tasking Excellent communication, accounting, interpersonal skills, and problem solving About the Company Small Hagerstown, MD based "niche" accounting and consulting practice that has been in business for 32 years. Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
