Job summary The Asset Protection & Controls Manager is responsible for protecting the Company's regulated assets by ensuring compliant, effective, and consistently followed operational processes within distributed gaming terminal operations. This role focuses on ensuring proper asset protection through internal controls, procedural compliance, and employee adherence, rather than traditional security or physical loss prevention. This role works proactively to prevent theft, misuse, regulatory violations, or process failures that could jeopardize company assets or gaming licenses. When discrepancies or irregularities are identified, this role documents their findings, notifies appropriate internal and external stakeholders, and assists those stakeholders with investigations and corrective action efforts to ensure issues are resolved and prevented from recurring. Job responsibilities Core Responsibilities - Compliance & Asset Protection In cooperation with stakeholders, ensure ongoing compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and rules governing distributed gaming terminal operations. Maintain, and monitor asset protection programs, internal controls, and documented procedures designed to safeguard gaming terminals, cash flows, data, and regulated systems. Confirm that gaming terminals, systems, and related equipment are installed, operated, serviced, secured, and monitored in accordance with regulatory and company requirements. Regularly assess operational processes to confirm controls are effective, consistently followed, and understood by employees and business partners. Identify risks, control gaps, or compliance issues and recommend corrective actions in collaboration with operational leadership. Maintain accurate and secure records related to asset protection and compliance, including incident reports, access logs, equipment movement documentation, audit materials, and regulatory correspondence. Monitor regulatory updates and legislative changes; in conjunction with stakeholders, coordinate timely updates to internal procedures and training. Ensure regulated and sensitive information is handled, stored, and transmitted in accordance with gaming and data-protection standards. Monitoring, Discrepancy Management & Investigation Support Oversee monitoring tools (including surveillance systems where required) to support asset protection and compliance objectives. Review reports, audits, alerts, and operational data to identify discrepancies, anomalies, or potential violations. When issues are identified, escalate findings to appropriate internal departments, leadership, or regulatory bodies as required. Assist with investigations by gathering documentation, coordinating information, and supporting internal teams, auditors, regulators, or law enforcement. Track investigation findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented, documented, and communicated. Act as a subject-matter resource for managers and employees regarding asset protection, procedural compliance, and risk mitigation. Leadership & Collaboration Provide day-to-day guidance related to asset protection and compliance. Partner closely with Operations, Finance, IT, Legal, and HR to align processes, controls, and training with asset protection requirements. Support training initiatives to reinforce employee accountability, process adherence, and regulatory expectations. Stay current on industry best practices, regulatory guidance, and technology related to asset protection and gaming compliance. Perform additional duties and provide functional leadership as assigned. Education B.S. in Finance, or related field preferred Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Experience 5+ years of experience in compliance, asset protection, internal audit, or risk management within regulated environments (e.g., gaming, financial services). Proven experience developing and maintaining internal controls, compliance programs, and audit processes to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory adherence. Demonstrated ability to identify discrepancies, support investigations, and manage incident resolution, including interaction with auditors or regulators. Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, IT, Legal, and HR to align controls, processes, and compliance requirements. Strong background in managing compliance documentation, monitoring regulatory changes, and training employees on policies, procedures, and risk mitigation. Work Environment This job generally operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is low.
