Job Title:
Traveling Compliance Specialist (USA) We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Traveling Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with all HUD, state agency, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) regulations related to occupancy, file rectifications, and tax credit requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of affordable housing compliance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with HUD and state agencies, particularly regarding Section 8 contract renewals. This position requires travel to various properties for file audits in Philadelphia, PA and Trenton, NJ areas. Preferred for
Philadelphia, PA/Trenton, NJ Area Responsibilities:
Stay current with all HUD, state agency, and LIHTC rules and regulations regarding occupancy, compliance, and rectifications. Serve as the primary liaison with HUD and state agencies regarding Section 8 contract renewals. Prepare and distribute weekly Occupancy Reports to executive leadership, ensuring accurate reporting of move-ins, move-outs, and transfers. Monitor and track voucher transmissions to TRACS across all sites. Notify UPF when sites receive fatal errors related to expiring contracts or funding deficiencies. Follow up with regional HUD offices to confirm processing and renewal of contracts. Maintain compliance binders for rent increases, income limits, and regulatory updates. Conduct on-site file audits and provide guidance to property teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of HUD, state agency, and tax credit rules and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
