Job Description

CDM is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to lead and strengthen our regulatory compliance programs in support of federal government and defense-related contracts. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance processes that ensure adherence to export control regulations, government contracting requirements, cybersecurity standards, and supplier oversight obligations. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in ITAR, EAR, DFARS, FAR, and CMMC requirements and will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership while partnering across various teams within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide compliance programs supporting ITAR, EAR, DFARS, FAR, CMMC, CPSR, and other federal regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee export and import compliance activities, including licensing, commodity jurisdiction and classification reviews, DDTC and BIS registrations, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on company policies, procedures, and operations.
  • Lead internal compliance reviews, audits, supplier assessments, and risk evaluations, ensuring timely resolution of findings and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with DFARS 252.
204-7012 and related cybersecurity requirements through implementation and monitoring of
NIST SP 800-171
controls for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Partner with Finance, IT, Human Resources, and Operations teams to integrate compliance requirements into business processes and decision-making.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees, managers, and suppliers to promote awareness and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Support government audits, assessments, and inquiries from agencies and customers.
  • Maintain accurate compliance documentation, records, policies, and procedures in accordance with applicable regulations and contractual requirements.
  • Identify compliance risks and recommend practical solutions to strengthen controls and improve organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Law, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in compliance, export controls, government contracting, or a related discipline within the defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or federal contracting environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in
ITAR, EAR, DFARS, FAR, CMMC, NIST SP
800-171, and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience managing export licensing, government registrations, audits, and compliance investigations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage employees, customers, suppliers, and government representatives.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), or similar credentials.
  • Experience supporting or interacting with government agencies including DCMA, DCAA, BIS, DDTC, DOJ, or other regulatory authorities.
  • Experience supporting CMMC assessments, NIST-based cybersecurity programs, or capability maturity initiatives.
Compensation:
$75,000 - $85,000 commensurate with education and experience

$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
