$30/hour Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Trade Compliance Analyst to support global import/export operations and regulatory compliance initiatives. This role will be responsible for maintaining trade compliance data, supporting Free Trade Agreement (FTA) qualification processes, assisting with tariff classifications, and ensuring hazardous materials shipping compliance across domestic and international operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in trade compliance, customs brokerage, import/export operations, or transportation compliance, along with strong data analysis and organizational skills. Key Responsibilities Collect, review, and maintain supplier-provided country of origin data, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) documentation to support global trade compliance requirements. Compile, validate, cleanse, and upload trade compliance data into ERP systems, trade compliance software, and third-party platforms. Support import/export compliance activities by reviewing shipment documentation and ensuring regulatory accuracy. Assign and validate UN identification numbers for hazardous materials shipments in accordance with DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations. Review and maintain supplier Safety Data Sheets (SDS), FTA certificates, and related compliance documentation. Analyze import and export data to identify potential duty savings and refund opportunities. Gather and verify shipment information from carriers and shipping platforms to support low-value and express shipment compliance requirements. Assist with product classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) while ensuring alignment with regulatory standards. Process customer requests for Free Trade Certificates by gathering qualification data, reviewing eligibility, and issuing certificates in a timely manner. Maintain accurate records, audit documentation, and compliance files to support internal audits and regulatory reviews. Partner cross-functionally with sourcing, logistics, legal, operations, and compliance teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure regulatory alignment. Support additional trade compliance initiatives, reporting projects, and process improvement efforts as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in International Business, International Relations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Chemistry, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or a related field; OR equivalent trade compliance/customs brokerage experience. 1-3 years of experience in Trade Compliance, Customs Brokerage, Import/Export Operations, Transportation, Logistics, or Regulatory Compliance. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills including formulas, data analysis, filtering, and reporting. Experience working with large data sets while maintaining a high degree of accuracy. Ability to read, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements and compliance documentation. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reporting tools. Experience supporting international import/export operations. Familiarity with Free Trade Agreements including USMCA/NAFTA, CAFTA, AUSFTA, and related trade programs. Understanding of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and customs documentation. Knowledge of hazardous materials transportation regulations including DOT, IATA, and IMDG. Experience with tariff classification and/or UN classification of chemicals. Customer service or supplier-facing communication experience.
