Job Description

POSITION TITLE
Sr. Analyst•Trade & Regulatory Compliance
REPORTS TO
Manager•Trade & Regulatory Compliance
POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr Analyst•Trade and Regulatory Compliance assists in leading the Trade and Regulatory team whose primary responsibility is to facilitate effective execution of compliant import/export activities within the global supply chain. This position will interface with US and Canada customs officers, customs brokers and external customers and will partner with internal business groups on all matters pertaining to customs and trade-related import and export activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Classification of all merchandise and non-merchandise for North America (US, Canada, Europe) Maintain all Binding Rulings in a central database Maintain Incomplete Quote reporting, work with internal partners to ensure classification KPIs are met and does not impede cargo flow Oversee and provide guidance to the production team on Classification, Duty Engineering, and other strategic initiatives relating to Global Trade Responsible for reviewing and updating the AEO Import Manual and AEO Corporate Vendor Manual Review Trade KPI's and work with internal and external partners on enhancements Assist in the maintenance of internal import/export processes, procedures and controls; upgrade and/or improve upon internal policies and processes to ensure on-going compliance in accordance with corporate policy guidelines Lead Duty Engineering savings program and provide assistance in supporting Defective Merchandise claims, Trade Preference Programs, etc. Manage reports on import and export trade data in ACE and various other resources Stay abreast of US and Canadian trade laws and customs regulations as well as global standards; provide updates to management of new developments and potential risks/liabilities as well as any required modifications to current procedures Manage the Supply Chain Compliance team's resolution of Customs entry issues and concerns Assist with strategic projects to improve efficiency, compliance and cost reduction initiatives Advise the International and Supply Chain teams on imports requirements for company-owned stores on a global basis Collaborate with other corporate regions (e.g. Mexico, Japan, Hong Kong, Europe and Licensed Locations), as well as the Legal Department, the Production Team, the Tax Department, the Transportation Teams, and other internal departments on trade and regulatory compliance matters Completing various Government Requests by engaging cross-functional partners and obtaining necessary information Renew and obtain certificates for Government Agencies, Fish and Wildlife and Food Drug Administration as necessary Oversee all 3rd Party Vendor & Non-Merchandise shipments working with internal teams for cross-border moves, including correct documentation and classification Lead system enhancements for continuing improvement of classification and data management Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3 years of experience managing customs and international trade and regulatory compliance programs; experience in the apparel industry and tariff classification a plus Current customs brokerage license preferred Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or logistics and/or equivalent work experience Excellent communication skills (both oral and written); demonstrated analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills; strong organizational and time management skills; attention to detail Solid knowledge and working understanding of international trade rules and regulations, including customs compliance, process control, internal and external audits: classification, valuation, Incoterms, origin, and PGA's Positive attitude toward customer service in meeting the needs of internal and external business partners including timely follow up and sense of urgency Demonstrated ability to weigh risk areas and business objectives, to propose and implement realistic solutions, and to turn complex trade and regulatory compliance requirements into scalable processes Ability to work well and indirectly manage others in a highly cross-functional and cross-regional team environment Ability to drive complex, cross functional projects including setting scope, reaching consensus, executing on tasks, and presenting results Ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion
Pay/Benefits Information:
Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
