Tri Pointe Connect, the mortgage affiliate of Tri Pointe Homes, is looking for an experienced individual to join our talented group in Arizona as a Mortgage Compliance Analyst. This position is hybrid (M-W in office/Th-Fri remote) working out of our national operations center in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Job Details Position Summary:
The Mortgage Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting the company's regulatory compliance program related to residential mortgage lending. This role ensures adherence to federal and state mortgage laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. The analyst monitors regulatory developments, reviews loan processes, assists with audits, and maintains licensing requirements through the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS). The position also helps ensure the organization and applicable employees maintain proper registration, renewals, and regulatory reporting within NMLS.
Job Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls, included but not limited to those related to HMDA, Vendor Management, ECOA, BSA/AML, RESPA/TILA Disclosure Compliance, and social media/advertising Compliance
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews.
  • Monitor and interpret federal and state mortgage lending regulations and ensure company policies and procedures remain compliant and current.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments, identify potential regulatory gaps, and support the implementation of appropriate corrective action. NMLS Licensing & Registration
  • Manage and maintain company and individual licensing records within the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry (NMLS).
  • Coordinate initial licensing, renewals, amendments, and terminations for mortgage loan originators and applicable employees.
  • Monitor licensing status and ensure all required continuing education and documentation are completed on time.
  • Maintain accurate records and filings for company and branch licenses in NMLS.
  • Manage Company, Branch, and Individual license items.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and attestations required through NMLS. Policy & Risk Management
  • Assist in drafting, updating, and maintaining compliance policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to operational teams on compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Support complaint tracking and resolution processes related to regulatory matters. Training & Communication
  • Support compliance training initiatives for mortgage lending staff.
  • Communicate regulatory changes and compliance expectations to relevant departments.
  • Provide general compliance helpdesk support to loan origination and operations staff.
Job Requirements Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in mortgage compliance, mortgage operations, or regulatory risk management.
  • Experience managing licensing through NMLS.
  • Experience with compliance monitoring, loan reviews, and regulatory reporting.
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and agency mortgage compliance regulations and regulatory frameworks.
  • Active NMLS registration preferred or ability to obtain registration as required.
  • Understanding of SAFE Act licensing requirements and familiarity with
NMLS/NMLS
Connect navigation concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tight regulatory deadlines.
  • Proficiency with compliance management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Familiarity with loan origination systems, Encompass preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • May be sedentary for extended periods, up to 4 hours
  • Visual acuity for detailed computer work
  • Using fine motor skills for tasks requiring precision such as typing
