Job Description

Responsibilities:
This position offers a flexible work arrangement. The Compliance HUD Asset Specialist for our location in San Antonio, TX . Periodic travel to our Corporate Office. Strong understanding of HUD regulations and fair housing compliance. Perform second-level reviews of files for LIHTC, HUD, HOME, RD, and other program types as needed. Provide technical guidance on student rules, income calculations, layered programs, and special circumstances. Support team members in meeting deadlines and audit readiness. Review all audit corrections and correspondence. Partner with property managers to troubleshoot challenging compliance cases. Ensure all program files and documentation are accurate and aligned with regulatory requirements. Monitor EIV Compliance. Assist with HUD Rent Increase paperwork, including UA Baselines. Help train new hires and roll out policy or regulatory updates. Other duties as assigned. 5+ years of direct experience in affordable housing compliance, including file review and approval. Prior experience in a lead or mentorship role preferred. Strong working knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, HOME, and RD. Familiarity with audit preparation and layered compliance scenarios. Strong communication.
Experience needed:
EIV Compliance:
3 years (Required).
LIHTC, RD, HUD, and HOME:
3 years (Required). Must pass a background check. Must live in the geographic area of the San Antonio, TX office.
