Description:
Position Summary The Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization adheres to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. This position is responsible for monitoring operations, conducting audits, reviewing documentation, and supporting the development and enforcement of compliance programs. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to promoting a culture of integrity and accountability across departments.Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor local, state, and federal regulations applicable to the business. Ensure all departments operate within legal and ethical boundaries.Policy & Procedure Oversight:
Assist in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of internal policies and procedures. Update documentation as regulations evolve.Audits & Reporting:
Conduct internal audits and compliance checks. Document findings and recommend corrective actions. Prepare reports for management or regulatory agencies as needed.Training & Communication:
Support employee training programs on compliance topics, including ethics, safety, data privacy, and industry-specific regulations.Risk Management:
Identify and assess compliance risks. Work with stakeholders to mitigate risk through process improvement and education.Documentation Review:
Review contracts, reports, forms, and operational records for accuracy and regulatory alignment.Incident Response:
Assist in investigating compliance-related complaints or violations. Maintain confidential records and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.Cross-Department Support:
Collaborate with HR, legal, operations, and finance departments to promote unified compliance practices. Preferred Traits Compliance certifications a PLUS! Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, Risk Management, or a related field 2-4 years of compliance, audit, regulatory, or risk experience Working knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, SOX, DOT, PCI, depending on industry) Strong analytical and research skills High attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance software/tools Ability to manage confidential information with discretion Strong verbal and written communication skillsSimilar remote jobs
