Lead Compliance Specialist Genesis | Compliance Department $21.00 - $24.00/hr | Full-Time | Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM About Genesis Genesis is a third-party property debt collection company committed to compliance-first operations. We specialize in property-related debt portfolios including rent arrears and related obligations. Our team operates in a regulated environment where integrity, accuracy, and regulatory expertise are foundational to everything we do. We are currently seeking a Senior Compliance Specialist to join our growing Compliance & Risk Management team. The Role As a Lead Compliance Specialist, you will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for ensuring our collection operations remain in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will conduct audits, draft regulatory responses, deliver staff training, and advise operational teams exercising independent judgment and providing guidance to junior compliance staff.
Requirements:
What You'll Do... Ensure collection activities comply with the
FDCPA, CFPB
regulations, Regulation F, FCRA, and UDAAP standards. Conduct compliance audits, file reviews, and quality monitoring of collection accounts and correspondence. Draft written responses to regulatory inquiries CFPB, Attorney General, DFPI, BBB, and others. Investigate consumer complaints and disputes; coordinate with management and legal counsel as needed. Review and recommend updates to compliance policies, procedures, and process guides. Mentor junior compliance staff and serve as a day-to-day compliance resource for front-line teams. Monitor regulatory developments and proactively communicate relevant changes to management. What We're Looking For...
Required:
2+ years in compliance, quality assurance, or a closely related role within debt collection or regulated financial services. Working knowledge of FDCPA, Regulation F, FCRA, UDAAP, SCRA, and GLBA. Experience conducting compliance audits and drafting regulatory or consumer complaint responses. Strong written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
Experience in property management or multi-family housing. Familiarity with e-OSCAR and credit bureau dispute processes.
CRCP, ACA
International certification, or equivalent compliance credential. Experience responding to CFPB examinations or regulatory inquiries. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Paralegal Studies, Finance, or related field.
Compensation & Details:
Pay Range $21.00 - $24.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) Employment Type Full-Time Schedule Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Department Compliance
