Job Description:
- At Regions, the Senior Credit Officer I position is accountable for the credit quality (past dues, NPA, Criticized assets, Net Losses, Exceptions, etc.
- Primary Responsibilities
- + Responsible for the overall creditworthiness of loan transactions within the assigned business reporting unit or segment + Manages applicable credit exposure to ensure adherence to Region's Risk Appetite Statement and to all asset quality, diversification, and exposure parameters + Communicates and demonstrates sound risk management practices in order to maintain an environment of risk ownership and awareness + Exhibits accountability for the quality and profitability (spread relative to risk) of the assigned business unit or segment + Partners and consults with subject matter experts for leveraged lending, sponsor-backed and specialized industries loan transactions, as applicable + Coordinates with multiple business unit constituents to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity and/or controls throughout the Credit/Underwriting process + Serves as Policy Author for select policies under the purview of the respective Policy Executive, Policy Owner and Policy Editor, as applicable + Provides input on revisions/amendments to existing credit reference guidance on standards, documentation requirements, and underwriting practices + Serves as an additional trainer/mentor for Credit Products and Coverage teams for consistent application of sound underwriting practices + Serves on ad hoc projects as a contributing member or project leader This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
- Requirements
- + Bachelor's degree in related field + Ten (10) years of related experience
