The Commercial Underwriting and Portfolio Risk role is responsible for the timely and accurate underwriting of new and existing commercial credit lines through business financial statement analysis, investigations and communications with all relevant stakeholders. This role's primary objective is to conduct detailed financial statement analysis for both public and privately held businesses, continuously manage credit exposures, and perform customer due diligence for new and existing clients to ensure that the Wheels US credit portfolio is of strong credit quality and within the established risk appetite.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
Underwrite new and existing credit facilities through financial analysis, due diligence, and review of deal terms, structure, and legal documentation Conduct due diligence on prospects and clients with senior management Construct and manage DCF (discounted cash flow) and cash flow models including sensitivity analyses to mitigate risk across diverse portfolios Present comprehensive credit packages including detailed free cash flow analysis, capital structure assessment, and projected asset risk coverage to executive leadership Build scalable and efficient credit analysis and monitoring processes Partner with cross-functional teams to assess projected asset risk coverage, department initiatives, system development, and workflow improvements Ensure accurate internal risk ratings and support portfolio management, Conduct training to assist with the development of less experienced team members Perform ad hoc company, industry, and portfolio analysis Other duties as assignedLEADERSHIP RESPONSIBLITIES
This position's leadership responsibilities involve demonstrating ethics and integrity, developing adaptability, displaying drive and purpose, and exhibiting leadership stature to members to key stakeholders for the origination and presentation of credit requestsCOMPETENCIES
- SKILLS Leveraged loan or private credit analysis experience including extensive financial statement analysis abilities and understanding of industry trends Knowledge of credit risk scoring methodologies and credit risk mitigation techniques Demonstrated proficiency with Excel and ability to integrate AI tools into the research and credit analysis process Ability to use visualization software (Tableau or Power BI) to create dashboards, preferred Strong time and project management skills to successfully work on multiple analytical assignments without loss in quality while meeting credit renewal timelines EDUCATION and
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years of commercial credit underwriting/analysis experience, preferably at a financial institution Bachelor's degree in business or finance field, in conjunction with formal credit training Effective communicator at all levels of the organization Experience with financial modeling in Excel (Pivot tables, Lookups, Formulas) Experience creating dashboards using Tableau or PowerBI, preferredCORE VALUES

Work Environment:
This position can sit in either Alpharetta, GA or Schaumburg, Ill and operates in a professional office environment.Position Type/Standard Schedule:
This is a full-time, hybrid position (Tue-Thu onsite) Monday through Friday 8a-5pm.Travel:
Minimal travel of 5% is expected for this position. (Very rare).Physical Demands:
