Job Description:
This position is responsible for approving new account applications, insuring accounts are properly documented (check references, sales tax number, etc.), establishing credit policy and collection practices, and enforcing credit policies.
REQUIREMENTS
: A) Good communication skills. B) Good computer skills. C) Detail oriented and well organized. D) College degree preferred. E) Basic accounting skills. F) Mature, strong personality. G) Self-confident. H) Able to make decisions.
GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
: 1) Respond to credit issues with customers, sales representatives, and credit reference checks. 2) Set up new accounts, and monitor accounts receivable balances. 3) Handle background checks of prospective accounts/ analyze financial statements. 4) Sales tax compliance. 5) Code checks and cash daily for payment processing. 6) Code checks from collection agencies and post information on spreadsheet. 7) Initiate collection steps to enforce payment and/or collection on bad checks. 8) Coordinate weekly and monthly statements. 9) Run monthly report of accounts over 60 days and give copies to Accounting Manager. 10) Run weekly watch list and send to each sales representative showing past due accounts. 11) Train new sales representatives on collections, applications, policies, reports, deposits, terms & cash handling. 12) Cooperate and communicate with sales force, management staff and other departments. 13) Any other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Company President.
