Job Description
Position Summary Synergy Bank is seeking a motivated Credit Analyst to support the Bank's commercial lending and credit administration functions. This position offers the opportunity to perform detailed financial analysis, evaluate credit risk, and contribute to sound lending decisions that support both our customers and the Bank's overall portfolio quality. As a Credit Analyst, you will analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, and collateral information to assess borrower creditworthiness and support commercial lending decisions. Working closely with loan officers, senior management, and the loan committee, you will play a key role in helping local businesses and individuals secure financing while maintaining the safety and soundness of the Bank's loan portfolio. Key Responsibilities Credit Analysis & Commercial Lending Support Perform detailed credit analysis for commercial, consumer, and business loan requests. Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and credit reports to assess credit risk and repayment capacity. Prepare comprehensive credit analysis accurately and timely for loan committee and board review. Evaluate borrower financial performance, industry trends, and risk factors. Work closely with loan officers, management, and compliance personnel to ensure accurate and complete credit documentation. Financial Documentation & Reporting Request and review financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documentation from borrowers. Prepare loan renewal packages and credit reviews for existing lending relationships. Maintain accurate electronic records and financial documentation. Ensure timely completion of required reports and analyses. Relationship Management & Communication Communicate professionally with borrowers regarding financial information and loan requirements. Build positive working relationships with lenders, customers, and internal departments. Provide prompt and professional telephone and email support. Team Collaboration & Professional Development Collaborate with lenders, credit personnel, compliance staff, and Bank management. Maintain knowledge of banking products, lending practices, and regulatory requirements. Participate in training and professional development opportunities related to credit analysis and commercial banking. Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and tax returns. Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb;}tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6;}tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5;} Experience in credit analysis, commercial banking, lending, accounting, auditing, financial analysis, or related financial services roles. Experience reviewing business financial statements and commercial loan requests. Familiarity with credit underwriting and loan portfolio management principles. Previous banking or commercial credit experience strongly preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong financial analysis and credit risk assessment skills. Ability to interpret financial statements, tax returns, and business performance metrics. Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail. Ability to prepare clear, concise, and professional credit presentations and reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, time-management, and project-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and financial reporting tools. Experience utilizing banking systems and loan administration software preferred. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
