Jobs › Amesbury, MA › Sr. Credit Analyst Robert Half Sr. Credit Analyst Amesbury, MA Apply Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Credit Analyst to join a banking team in Portsmouth, Massachusetts. This position plays a key role in evaluating the financial strength of commercial borrowers, identifying credit risk, and supporting sound lending decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, a solid understanding of commercial credit structures, and the ability to prepare clear, well-supported recommendations for new and existing loan relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Gather financial records and supporting documentation from lenders or borrowers to assess the strength and risk profile of commercial credit relationships.
• Examine business and personal financial statements, tax returns, and related background materials to develop thorough underwriting assessments.
• Create clear written credit analyses, financial models, summaries, and recommendations to support lending decisions.
• Verify that loan documentation is complete and confirm that collateral has been properly documented and secured.
• Evaluate collateral positions to ensure sufficient coverage and alignment with bank lending policy and underwriting standards.
• Partner with commercial lending staff to review existing relationships, support new opportunities, and recommend appropriate credit structures.
• Prepare and update loan presentations, annual reviews, modification requests, credit file notes, and other required portfolio reports.
• Maintain accurate and organized credit files for commercial borrowers while assisting with customer service and loan servicing needs.
• Support commercial lenders with underwriting, renewal reviews, and selected client interactions related to new requests and ongoing account maintenance.
• Perform assigned duties in accordance with applicable banking regulations, internal policies, and compliance requirements. Requirements
• At least 5 years of commercial credit analysis experience, including Commercial and Industrial lending exposure across moderate to large loan sizes.
• Strong knowledge of commercial lending practices, credit administration, and financial institution policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated skill in credit underwriting, loan structuring, and identifying risk within commercial loan portfolios.
