CNB is looking for a qualified, motivated, and client- and team-focused individual to join our team as a Credit Manager. This position will be ON-SITE at our Jackson location.
JOB SUMMARY
The AVP, Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the bank's commercial credit function, ensuring the quality, integrity, and performance of a diverse commercial loan portfolio. This role ensures that commercial lending activities are conducted within the bank's established risk appetite, credit policy framework, and in alignment with applicable regulatory agencies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, train and mentor a team of credit analysts and/or underwriters Promote a culture of disciplined credit analysis and continuous improvement Partner with commercial lenders to structure sound, competitive loan proposals Provide guidance on deal structuring, risk assessment, and policy interpretation Review, analyze, and approve or decline complex commercial loan requests Evaluate borrower financials, cash flow, collateral, and repayment capacity Monitor the performance and risk profile of the commercial loan portfolio Identify emerging credit risks and recommend corrective actions Oversee risk rating accuracy and ensure timely upgrades / downgrades Ensure adherence to internal credit policies, regulatory guidelines, and underwriting standards Maintain compliance with applicable banking regulations and audit expectations Assist in developing, refining, and implementing credit policies and procedures May perform various other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field 8-10+ years of relevant experience in commercial credit experience with significant exposure to underwriting Prior leadership or supervisory experience
Preferred:
MBA or CFA preferred Experience in a community or regional bank environment Requirements SKILLS Expertise in commercial credit analysis, including financial statement analysis and cash flow modeling Excellent credit judgement and risk assessment capabilities Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a growth-oriented environment Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex materials Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with direct interaction across lending, senior leadership, and risk functions Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is an on-site position located in our Jackson, Fields office and may require occasional travel.
