Job Description

Summary A leading commercial bank is looking for a Senior Credit Risk Review Officer to independently assess complex commercial lending exposures across a large, sophisticated banking platform. As a Senior Advisor, you will serve as a subject matter expert, evaluating underwriting quality and credit risk across large, structured transactions in C&I, CRE, leveraged lending, and ABL. This is a deeply analytical role that places you at the center of critical credit decisions, influencing how risk is understood, measured, and managed at a senior level. You will have visibility into portfolio trends, emerging risks, and macro-driven credit dynamics, with direct exposure to senior stakeholders. Responsibilities Conduct in-depth reviews of complex commercial credit transactions, validating underwriting quality, risk ratings, and structural integrity Assess portfolio-level risk trends, concentrations, and emerging credit issues to inform broader risk strategy Lead engagements as Reviewer-in-Charge, overseeing team members and delivering comprehensive findings Provide independent, data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership and business stakeholders Requirements 10+ years in commercial credit risk, underwriting, or credit review within large financial institutions Expertise across C&I, CRE, leveraged lending, and ABL, including large ($50MM+) transactions Strong credit analysis skills, including financials, cash flow, and risk rating validation Experience in second-line risk, credit review, or audit, with ability to challenge stakeholders Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and credit review methodologies
