This role helps minimize credit risk, improve cash flow, and maintain positive customer relationships while ensuring compliance with company credit policies. The Credit Manager works closely with Sales, Operations, Shipping, and Management to resolve customer account issues and support business objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate new and existing customer creditworthiness and establish appropriate credit limits and payment terms. Review financial statements, credit reports, payment history, and trade references. Manage collections and monitor accounts receivable aging and DSO. Make recommendations regarding credit holds, credit limits, and payment arrangements. Oversee cash applications, unapplied cash, customer deductions, and claims. Maintain accurate customer credit files and account information. Work closely with Sales, Operations, Shipping, and Management to resolve customer account issues. Monitor credit exposure and identify potential credit risks. Prepare credit and accounts receivable reports for Management. Assist with improving credit department processes, procedures, reporting, and systems. Requirements & Preferred Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States. Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in commercial credit, collections, accounts receivable, or a related field. Credit management or supervisory experience preferred. Strong financial statement analysis and credit evaluation skills. Excellent collection, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred. Food, meat, manufacturing, distribution, or agricultural industry experience is a plus. Work Environment This role is primarily performed in a professional office environment within a manufacturing facility. Employees may occasionally enter production areas and be exposed to varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, noise, and moving mechanical equipment. Appropriate safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) must be followed when entering production areas.
