Credit Analyst Job Summary:

The Home Loan Savings Bank is a 143-year old, $350 million community bank with 5 branches. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to join our banking team. This role is responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses by analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and making informed lending recommendations. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports to assess risk and determine creditworthiness Interpret and navigate federal tax returns to extract relevant financial insights Prepare detailed credit memos and risk assessments for loan approvals Utilize Excel to build financial models, perform data analysis, and generate reports Monitor existing loan portfolios and identify potential risks or issues Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, and other team members to support lending decisions Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong background in accounting principles and financial analysis Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to navigate and interpret federal tax returns (individual and business) Effective communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field Previous experience in banking, lending, or credit analysis Familiarity with financial software and credit analysis tools
