Credit Analyst The Role The Home Loan Savings Bank is a 143-year old, $350 million community bank with 5 branches searching for a credit analyst. As a Credit Analyst, you'll evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing borrowers, prepare clear credit recommendations, and partner closely with lenders and credit leadership. Your work directly shapes the quality of our loan portfolio and our clients' success. What You'll Do

• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, and collateral to assess borrower risk and repayment capacity
• Spread financials and build cash flow, debt service coverage, and ratio analyses
• Prepare written credit memos with risk ratings and recommendations for loan approval, renewal, or modification
• Review credit reports, industry trends, and market conditions affecting borrowers
• Assist with annual reviews, covenant compliance monitoring, and ongoing portfolio management
• Identify early warning signs of credit deterioration and escalate concerns
• Collaborate with relationship managers and loan officers on deal structuring
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policy and regulatory requirements
• Support loan committee preparation and occasionally present findings

Required Skills:

• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent written communication, able to turn complex analysis into clear recommendations
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• 0-2 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, underwriting, or a related financial role
• Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
