Job Description

We are seeking an Item Processing Generalist I the Payment Operations Department. The Item Processing Generalist's I role is required to perform a variety of tasks to support all check processing functions. The position is responsible for researching and resolving check adjustments, processing share draft exceptions, return deposit items, branch capture, and lock box payments. The role also reconciles general ledgers related to all check processing functions and performs functions for the collection of foreign and domestic checks, and other negotiable items. The role is also responsible for reporting unusual and suspicious activity and maintaining EFT records. If you have financial services experience, you should apply right away!
Highlights:
Actively communicate with other financial institutions or other business units for information to ensure outstanding items are cleared within 60 days Reverse or refund fees dues to processing errors Reconcile transit, proof, payroll and share draft clearing general ledgers Process collection items received from financial institutions and members in accordance with department guidelines and procedures, third party processor's operating rules, and Federal Reserve rules and guidelines Review and decision rejected share drafts by reviewing account history and account status Maintain files and documents for proper records retention
Experience:
Required One year or more of banking experienced Preferred One year of Item Processing experience Episys experience
Education:
Required High School diploma or equivalent
Skills & Knowledge:
Required Proficient and accurate 10 key skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Understanding of credit and debit entries Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment Ability to work in a fast-pace environment Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm
