With eighteen nationwide locations, we are looking to add a Credit and Collection Specialist to our Accounting Department. This full-time position will be based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Dayton, Ohio, and report directly to the Controller. The Credit and Collection Specialist will be responsible for collection, credit approval, problem solving, and recommendation placement of accounts for collection. Makes decisions regarding collection steps to be taken and credit approval on new and existing accounts.
Primary Responsibilities:
Telephone and written collection effort on delinquent accounts in assigned areas. Determine high risk accounts and suggesting and implementing plan of action. Telephone and electronic credit investigation and approval of new and existing accounts. Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, customer service departments, and from customers. Resolves invalid or unauthorized deductions. Refers delinquent accounts to Accounting Manager to place with collection agency and maintains records of accounts placed. Files and maintains bankruptcy court proof of claims and required documentation. Credit approval for new customers and credit limit adjustments for existing customers. Working closely with sales and customer service
Required Experience and Skills:
Working knowledge of Excel. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task. Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. Candidate should be detail oriented. 3-5 years Credit and Collections experience preferred. Prior Accounting experience preferred. Data Entry Skills, General Math Skills. Strong Verbal and Written Communication. Computer and common office equipment knowledge. Ability to work without supervision and to plan and organize workload. Ability to get along with others.
