Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and process import documentation according to customs regulations, laws, and procedures. Ensure compliance with all customs laws and regulations. Coordinate the delivery of goods and arrange for payment of duties, taxes, storage, and transportation. Advise clients on transportation options, types of carriers, or shipping routes. Maintain relationships with customs and other government officials to expedite the processing of shipments. Resolve issues related to cargo transportation, including disputes or discrepancies. Negotiate contracts, transportation charges, or rates and duties with clients or freight forwarders. Track shipments and notify clients of their arrival.
Qualifications:
Licensed Customs Broker certification. In-depth knowledge of import and export laws and regulations. Experience in dealing with customs and border protection agencies. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in relevant software and tools for customs documentation.
Pay:
$72,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
