Ocean Import Specialist Location:
Torrance, CA Pay Rate:
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour
Shift:

Requirements & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred. 2-3 years of experience in ocean imports, freight forwarding, or logistics. Strong knowledge of international shipping processes and import regulations. Familiarity with Incoterms, customs procedures, and import documentation. Cargo Wise experience is strongly preferred and highly desired. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities & Job Duties:
Manage ocean import shipments from booking through final delivery. Track and trace shipments while proactively resolving delays and exceptions. Coordinate with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, trucking companies, and other service providers. Review and process import documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists. Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other governing agencies. Partner with customs brokers to facilitate timely customs clearance. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding shipment status and updates. Provide timely communication, problem resolution, and shipment milestone updates. Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Accurately enter shipment information into CargoWise and other transportation management systems. Maintain organized shipment files and ensure data integrity. Generate reports and provide shipment status updates as needed.
