Customs Import Specialist Compensation:

We are working with a thriving logistics operation in Palatine, IL that is growing and needs a sharp, experienced Import Specialist to join their team. This is not a revolving door position. The people here stay, the work is steady, and the right person will have a real opportunity to become a cornerstone of this operation. What makes this role exciting You will not be pushing paper in the background. You will be the person driving import operations forward, owning your entries from start to finish, and making sure every shipment clears cleanly and on time. The volume is real, 100-150 entries per month, and the team needs someone who can carry that weight with confidence. What you will be doing Managing the full lifecycle of customs entries including HTS classification and FDA/PGA compliance Handling "may proceed" releases and jumping on FDA exam notifications immediately Researching and applying HTS codes with accuracy and speed Keeping clients informed and ahead of any issues before they escalate Coordinating with carriers, steamship lines, and customer service teams Monitoring Customs and FDA releases and resolving any errors fast Supporting the Import Manager and contributing to a team that actually works well together What you bring to the table 3+ years of hands-on import entry writing and brokerage operations experience Deep knowledge of FDA/PGA requirements and HTS classification The ability to move fast and stay accurate when volume is high QuestaWeb experience is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel A mindset built for ownership, not just task completion This team is ready to welcome someone who takes their craft seriously.
