Air and Ocean Import Agent The Phillip Charles Group - 4.7 Romulus, MI Job Details Full-time $20 - $24 an hour 11 hours ago Qualifications Interpersonal skills Customer service High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Organizational skills Full Job Description The Phillip Charles Group has been servicing the local metro Detroit area for the past 30 years and has built incredibly strong partnerships with our clients, candidates and employees. We have worked with our current client for years and they are looking for a Customer Service Agent for a possible Contract to Hire opportunity based out of their Romulus, Mi. location. The Air and Ocean Import Agent is responsible for assisting in the preparation and distribution of import documents according to instructions from the direct supervisor (Team Leader or above). Ensure accuracy and compliance to instructions.

8am-5pm
Pay:
$20-24/hr based on Experience Import Agent - Responsibilities Handle job assignments as directed by the Team Leader and provide support to other Import Agents. Prepare and process import shipments, including customs clearance, shipping, labeling, and cargo disbursement. Generate delivery orders, shipping labels, and other required shipment documentation. Prepare import documentation for the brokerage department and customers' customs brokers. Coordinate cargo pickups and deliveries with trucking companies, airlines, and bonded facilities. Perform accurate filing, data entry, freight bill preparation, and related administrative duties. Monitor and collect outstanding invoices within established customer credit terms. Maintain accurate shipment records and ensure all import-related activities are completed efficiently and on schedule. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Strong computer skills, particularly proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with Lotus Notes, AS/400, or comparable business systems is desirable. Knowledge of international commerce and general export technology is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work a flexible schedule when required. Customer service experience is preferred. General knowledge of export technology and international commerce regulations is an asset.
