full-time We are representing our client, a large publicly-traded company based in the San Gabriel Valley, in hiring a Director/Senior Director of Tax.
Responsibilities include:
Lead the company's tax accounting function, overseeing the monthly tax close process, FIN 48 reserve analysis, and preparation of quarterly and annual income tax disclosures for financial reporting. Direct regulatory tax compliance activities. Research, interpret, and implement complex tax accounting guidance, including ASC 740 and FIN 48, ensuring compliance with evolving accounting standards. Oversee tax repair capitalization, depreciation methodologies, and property tax-related processes to ensure compliance with IRS regulations and applicable industry requirements. Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, enhance system efficiencies, and strengthen internal controls through continuous process improvement initiatives. Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for a team of tax professionals, fostering a high-performing and collaborative work environment. Maintain the highest standards of integrity by safeguarding the organization's physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, while ensuring the secure handling of confidential customer, employee, proprietary, and other sensitive information.
Minimum Qualifications:
Seven (7) or more years of experience leading teams through direct supervision, project management, or a combination of both. Ten (10) or more years of progressive experience in income tax accounting, including tax provision preparation and financial statement reporting. Extensive knowledge of ASC 740 and demonstrated expertise in SOX compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field. Fifteen (15) or more years of income tax accounting experience, including at least ten (10) years in a leadership or people management role. Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
