Job Description

Director of Accounting I am working with a great firm in Washington, DC that is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to join their team. This role serves as the senior internal accounting professional and is responsible for the financial operations. Prior experience at a law firm is strongly preferred.
Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Oversee the Firm's day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, trust accounting, and monthly close process
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
  • Monitor cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions to ensure the Firm's financial stability and operational effectiveness
  • Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and other financial compliance activities
  • Administer payroll processes and coordinate retirement plan contributions and compliance requirements
