We are partnering with a growing Entertainment organization in NYC that is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Accounting to lead the organization's accounting operations and financial reporting function. This role oversees the monthly close process, manages a high?performing accounting team, drives process improvements, and ensures compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, hands?on leadership experience, and the ability to support a fast?growing, service?based business with accurate financial insights and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead the full monthly financial close process-including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and variance analysis-to ensure timely, accurate, and complete reporting. Direct consolidation activities across multiple business units or subsidiaries, ensuring GAAP compliance and proper intercompany elimination entries. Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and supporting schedules. Supervise, coach, and develop a team of five accounting professionals, overseeing workflow, performance management, and ongoing training. Maintain integrity of the general ledger, including chart of accounts management, reconciliation oversight, and strong internal controls to support audit readiness. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and cash management, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company policies. Partner with executive leadership on annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision?making. Identify, implement, and optimize process improvements and system enhancements, including automation and technology upgrades to improve efficiency and scalability. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Midtown NYC on site 4-5 days a week required. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles within a entertainment based industry. Experience working with NetSuite or comparable mid?market ERP systems, including month?end close workflows and reporting tools. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively across departments, and thrive in a fast?paced, growth?oriented environment. Interested?!
