Job Description
Description We are looking for an accomplished accounting leader to oversee financial operations supporting gaming activities in Las Vegas, Nevada. This position guides reporting accuracy, regulatory adherence, and strong internal controls across casino revenue functions while partnering with leadership on business performance. The ideal candidate brings deep gaming industry expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to build a high-performing team in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the accounting and finance activities tied to gaming operations, ensuring daily execution aligns with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results for gaming-related revenue streams with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including oversight of reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff while promoting accountability, focused growth, and consistent performance.
- Maintain compliance with Nevada gaming regulations, Title 31 requirements, and established internal control frameworks applicable to casino operations.
- Prepare and submit required gaming reports, tax filings, license-related payments, and Suspicious Activity Reports for Casinos to the appropriate agencies.
- Partner with senior leadership to interpret financial and operational data, offering recommendations that support informed business decisions.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, respond to requests, and drive timely resolution of any findings or control issues.
- Monitor control effectiveness across gaming and related revenue processes to safeguard assets and strengthen financial integrity.
- Support a service-focused environment by working collaboratively with internal teams and responding professionally to operational needs. Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility within gaming, casino, or hospitality finance.
- Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliation practices.
- Experience working with financial statement audits and preparing documentation for regulatory or external review.
- Familiarity with BlackLine or comparable account reconciliation and close management platforms.
- CPA designation preferred or strong equivalent technical accounting background.
- Working knowledge of Nevada gaming compliance requirements, including internal controls and applicable regulatory filings.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and communicate effectively with executives, auditors, and regulatory contacts.
