Director, Technical Accounting The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation - 3.4 Pittsburgh, PA Job Details Full-time 18 hours ago Qualifications Research Full Job Description Provides technical accounting and advisory services to BNY Mellon businesses and controllers related to highly complex accounting matters such as broker dealer and capital market transactions, acquisitions & dispositions, consolidations, impairments, hedge accounting, financial instruments valuation and revenue /expense recognition.

Conducts research and evaluation of complex technical accounting matters, valuation, and unique transactions.

Develops recommendations on how BNY Mellon should treat transactions and other complex accounting matters in accordance with applicable standards. Presents recommendations to business leadership.

Reviews complex accounting judgments included in BNY Mellon's quarterly and annual reports. Interacts with external auditors and answers questions regarding accounting methodology.

Develops documentation and provides guidance on complex accounting matters regarding BNY Mellon's treatment of transactions and related assumptions and judgments.

Monitors activities of accounting standard setting bodies (i.e., SEC, FASB, and IASB). Analyzes operational and financial impact of proposed and adopted accounting standards and supports the development of BNY Mellon positions on evolving accounting matters.

No direct reports,, provides guidance to less experienced team members and may be leader on project teams.

Supports the achievement of team objectives.
