Job Description

Job Title:
Accounting Consultant Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Consultant to oversee financial reporting, manage accounting staff, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across multiple business divisions. Key Responsibilities Manage and lead the divisional accounting teams Review journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies Oversee monthly account close process for assigned divisions Review monthly account reconciliations to ensure proper supporting documentation and timely completion Manage and review client contracts, including calculation of rates, deductions, and revenue recognition Provide accurate and timely financial reporting by strategic business division Lead the preparation and management of annual budgets and semi-annual forecasts Analyze and report budget vs. actual results, identifying variances and providing actionable insights Coordinate with the Controller on year-end audit activities, including preparation of schedules and balance sheet reviews Ensure all balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled and supported Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to accounting staff, resolving issues and improving processes Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
Preferred:
4+ years of management experience OR a combination of: 3-4 years in public accounting plus 2+ years in an industry management role Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial reporting Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Proven ability to manage and develop a team Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Irvine, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
