https://www.sidewindersllc.com/about-us/ The Opportunity We are seeking a Director of Finance to lead our accounting and finance team as our current leader prepares for retirement. Reporting to our CEO, this role oversees all related functions for our multi-entity, multi-division small business. Ideal candidates will demonstrate how their progressive career experience and continued commitment to education prepares them for this role. They will also apply a continuous improvement mindset to processes as we continue to mature our operations to support company growth. Your day-to-day may include:
- Provide direct leadership on all accounting and finance department functions.
- Month end close processes including journal entry adjustments, balance sheet account reconciliations, deferrals, and expense recordings in accordance with GAAP.
- Managing cost data, conducting variance analysis, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Supervise AR/AP; providing direct support on escalations.
- Prepare weekly ACH and wire payments, including template setups.
- Bank reconciliations weekly/monthly.
- Responsible for all treasury activities and banking relationships.
- Cash flow management and forecast preparation.
- Fixed asset management.
- Intercompany accounting and reconciliation between (2) set of books; collaborating between multiple locations.
- WIP schedules to monitor and control the workflow within the organization.
- Payroll reconciliation and accrual management.
- Partner with Sales to administer commission programs, including monthly statements.
- Prepare quarterly sales tax returns, plus general tax return and payment support.
- Administer expense reimbursement and company credit card programs.
- Lead establishment of business metrics, and maintain weekly KPI tracking.
- Prepare documentation of internal controls, process, and procedures.
- Deliver monthly reporting packages and variance analysis.
- Own annual budgeting and strategic planning processes, including labor planning and compensation programs.
- Manage third party CPA firm relationships.
- Lead various internal and external audits.
- Advise owners on financial decisions as it relates to company strategy and direction.
What we expect of you:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 8+ years progressive experience within Accounting / Finance roles; including minimum 4 years at Controller+ level.
- 3+ years supporting regulated manufacturing and/or field services industries.
- Active CPA license, or ability and willingness to reinstate.
- Leadership experience across projects, process, and people. Interest and ability to coach and mentor direct reports.
- Prior experience in multi-entity, multi-division financial environments.
- Solid GAAP knowledge and practical application.
- International accounting standards exposure; direct experience preferred.
- ERP utilization experience; configuration is a plus.
- Quickbooks Online experience is preferred.
- Strong Excel skills are a must.
- Demonstrated business acumen and experience preparing effective analysis and reports for leadership teams.
- Ability to problem solve decisively and independently while demonstrating appropriate judgement on escalations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including comfort presenting to various internal and external audiences.
