Tax Director, Braintree, MA If you're looking for a Tax role with genuine balance, leadership opportunity and a firm that won't expect you to live at your desk, this could be worth a conversation. Busy season here is genuinely manageable compared with most public accounting firms. Hours are typically around 50-55 a week, with no Sundays and no late nights. The summer schedule is a real benefit too. For 10 weeks, the team works 32-hour weeks with Fridays off. You'll also have your own office, the option to work from home once settled, and a clear path to step into a partner role. You will join a long-standing 12-person CPA firm in Braintree with a professional, friendly and steady team. Many people have been with the firm for 20+ years, which says a lot about the environment. The client base includes dealerships, private equity firms, distributors and closely held businesses ranging from $10M to $1B in revenue, so you'll still have strong technical work without the lifestyle cost that often comes with it.

Job description:

You'll oversee tax work across corporate, partnership and individual clients, with a strong focus on corporate tax. You'll manage client relationships, lead planning and compliance work, review complex returns and act as a senior point of contact for sophisticated, multi-entity clients. You'll also support and develop staff, help manage workflow and play a key role in the future leadership of the firm. There is some financial statement work in the firm, including audits, reviews and compilations, so broader public accounting experience would be useful.
