Our current stack centers on QuickBooks Online; payroll is via ADP or Gusto; practice management is Canopy. You'll shape the tech stack to support client service and firm growth. Role Summary Lead the design, selection, integration, and governance of the accounting technology stack with QuickBooks Online at the core. Translate service needs into scalable, secure financial systems (GL, sub-ledgers, reporting, interfaces, controls) to improve accuracy, close efficiency, and advisory capability. Key Responsibilities Define the technology strategy around QuickBooks Online, identifying complementary tools to support bill pay, bookkeeping, reporting, payroll, sales tax, and advisory services. Design and implement scalable client and internal accounting systems with integrations to Canopy (practice management), ADP or Gusto payroll, CRM, time/billing, and billing platforms. Evaluate tools; create configuration blueprints, migration plans, and integration strategies with ROI in mind. Manage scope, budgets, risks, and governance; lead cross-functional teams to on-time, on-budget delivery. Lead data migration and cleansing across service lines; maintain ongoing data quality. Create SOPs and training materials; drive user training and change management across workflows. Develop dashboards and KPIs to support service delivery and advisory insights. Collaborate with tax and advisory teams to ensure smooth workflows and audit trails. Maintain documentation and support pre-sales demonstrations and proposals. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems; CPA preferred. 6+ years in accounting/finance, including 4+ years in ERP/system design or major accounting-system projects. Proven experience designing or reengineering accounting systems for professional services or CPA firms. Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online; familiarity with ADP or Gusto payroll and Canopy practice management; knowledge of related integrations (billing, time tracking, CRM, etc.); AP automation and tax integrations a plus. Solid knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, risk management; SOX familiarity for clients. Project management experience with PMP or Agile; able to manage multi-stakeholder engagements. Excellent communication and client-facing skills; ability to translate business needs into technical design.
