Job Description

Description We are looking for a Corporate Controller to lead and elevate our accounting operations in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves directing a high-performing team, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving strategic financial insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in building scalable systems and fostering collaboration across multiple departments.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee North American accounting operations while providing dotted-line support for international entities.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a skilled accounting team, promoting accountability and attention to detail in growth.
  • Establish and document accounting policies to ensure consistency and clarity across all entities.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with U.S. accounting standards.
  • Manage inventory valuation, reserves, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and global consolidations.
  • Design and implement robust internal controls to protect assets and enhance reporting reliability.
  • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, overseeing audit preparation and issue resolution.
  • Optimize accounting systems and workflows to improve efficiency and data integrity.
  • Partner with executive leadership to provide actionable insights for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • Extensive experience in corporate accounting and financial management, ideally in a global environment.
  • Proficiency in U.S. accounting standards and strong knowledge of inventory valuation and revenue recognition.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, fostering collaboration and performance.
  • Expertise in designing and maintaining internal controls and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite, and other financial software.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of managing audits and working effectively with external auditors.
