Adjunct/Part-Time Job Description The Part-Time Financial Aid Technician is an in-person position (up to 25 hours per week) located primarily at the LLP Campus in Polkton, NC. Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Financial Aid and Veteran Services, the Part-time Financial Aid Technician provides high-quality service to students and employees to achieve a high standard of excellence and innovation in support services. Essential Duties Summary The primary focus of this position is the administration of external and Foundation scholarships and Continuing Education (CE) programs. The successful candidate will implement multiple means of communication to inform SPCC students and faculty/staff of the availability of scholarship/grant funds and how to apply correctly. Will serve as the primary person of contact at the institution for scholarships and CE award inquiries, and the program administrator. Assist with Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion for students Assist in the collection of verification data and change-in-program forms as directed by the Director of Financial Aid Attend outreach events on behalf of the Office of Financial Aid as requested Perform various other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Associate Degree One year of experience in a customer service role Effective written and oral communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Experience in office organizational techniques and practices Preferred Qualifications College financial aid experience Experience with data management systems (Colleague, Banner, PeopleSoft, etc.) Evidence of a career that includes flexibility and a willingness to change; open-mindedness, fairness, and the ability to see multiple perspectives Demonstrated patience and understanding, especially in difficult situations
