BASIC PURPOSE
- This position has been approved for a flexible work option arrangement. Flexible work options can be ended at any time by the College, Cabinet, and/or supervisors based on employee performance and/or as institutional needs change.
- This position has College-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations. The main location will be the Blue Bell campus.
- This position requires the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police and FBI Fingerprint clearances prior to their start date.
Closing date for this position is Sunday, July 5, 2026. Provide superior customer service and support to students and families through the application and financial aid awarding process. Support the financial aid administration team by assisting with the management of federal, state, and private loan programs. The position reports to the Associate Director of Financial Aid.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide customer service to students, parents, and the general public regarding financial aid programs, application process, and eligibility requirements.
- Manage private student loan certification, import and export to ELM, review and resolve error reports, release private loan funds for disbursement, and perform monthly reconciliation.
- Process Direct Loans according to federal financial aid regulations. Monitor the import and export of Direct Loan funds on a daily basis. Review and resolve the COD error and reject Direct Loan reports.
- Utilize NSLDS, COD and applicable Colleague reports to monitor potential student loan overaward situations, annual and lifetime aggregate limits, 150% subsidized usage, and changes in enrollment, to ensure loan award amounts do not exceed the Direct Loan borrowing limits.
- Monitor Colleague processing to ensure that exit counseling notifications are sent via email to students who have graduated, withdrawn (officially and unofficially) or dropped to less-than-half time, as mandated by federal regulations.
- Assist in the release and transmittal of the Direct Loan funds to be disbursed and adjusted by the Bursar's office.
- Coordinate all materials, facilities, and promotions of financial aid events. Update office documents.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Education/Training/Work Experience:
- Associate's degree required with 2 years work related experience
- Proficiency in computer skills required
- Excellent communication, both written and oral required
Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
- Specialized training in specific software or process may be required
- Customer service skills required
- Analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision required
