Job Description

A.
Purpose:
To Assist the vice President for enrollment management and sr. director of student financial services in administering of financial aid programs. B.
Duties:
Financial Aid Responsibilities 1.Counsel students and parents on the availability of financial aid and assist families with completion of all applications/ forms. Counseling assignment to be determined by the Director of Financial Aid. 2. Award new and returning students, including data entry of awards. Responsible for processing all aspects of student files, including but not limited to VT AG review and approval, Verification review and updates, Invalid Applications, aid appeals, and processing of all student loans. Counselor will assist with data entry of applications, credit checks, and follow-up request when necessary. 3. Serve as receptionist for the Financial Aid Office. Answer incoming telephone calls and assist callers with their
QUESTIONS
And/or forward calls when necessary. Greet visitors to the office and assist them with their questions and/or schedule appointments. Calls received before 4:30 p.m. will be contacted the same business day. 4. Complete all exit counseling requirements for students who do not enroll. Update ECMC/Horizons with exit information for timely counseling of loan obligations. 5. Keep current with developments and trends in the Financial Aid field by participating in continuing education courses, PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS and seminars, attending conferences, reading current literature and maintaining professional contacts in the community. 6. Prepare for and assist with student registration, Open House, and other College events. Speak at High School Nights as requested. Administrative Responsibilities 1. Ensure that all daily office functions and procedures are completed in the absence of the Director. 2. Responsible for reporting through query and assisting with all reporting functions when needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
The role may include other duties as assigned to support the overall operations and mission of the college. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as responsibilities may evolve based on institutional needs.
Work Autonomy:
This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and requires the ability to perform duties independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision while meeting organizational goals and expectations C.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree 2. Experience in Enrollment Management, including Admissions and/ or Financial Aid, with willingness to learn electronic data exchange programs. 3. Demonstrated evidence of excellent organizational and computer skills with database experience such as (but not limited to) Colleague, SAP Business Objects, Excel, Word, Access, etc. 4. Demonstrated evidence of strong interpersonal and customer service skills. 5.. Willingness to learn federal financial aid regulations and procedures.
Salary Range:
