A TRD internship provides students with valuable learning opportunities outside the classroom while working alongside experienced professionals in the motorsports and automotive industry. As a TRD intern, you will be considered an integral part of the team and will be provided with assignments that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating.

Must be located in California Position Summary The Commercial Operations Intern will support the Commercial Operations team through financial and budget analysis, business research, cost reporting, and data analysis. This role will provide analytical support for recurring reporting cycles and ad hoc business decisions while working directly with Commercial Operations and cross-functional partners. Key Responsibilities Support budget tracking and variance analysis; monitor spending against plan and flag deviations. Prepare cost reports and assist with cost-per-unit, program cost, and expense roll-up analysis. Build and maintain recurring financial and commercial reports for leadership review. Pull, clean, and reconcile data from internal systems and third-party sources. Conduct business research on market trends, competitive activity, and industry benchmarks. Perform data analysis to identify trends, drivers, and opportunities across commercial metrics. Provide analytical and reporting support for Aftermarket Accessories and Customer Racing. Prepare charts, summaries, and presentations for internal reviews and leadership meetings. Maintain trackers and documentation for ongoing commercial initiatives. Support ad hoc analysis requests from Commercial Operations leadership. Document and improve repeatable processes, including templates, report automation, and data definitions. Qualifications Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program; Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or Analytics preferred. Rising junior or senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic financial modeling. Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint. Exposure to data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL is a plus, but not required. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information to a small group. Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines with limited supervision. Available to work 24 hours per week on-site during the academic year. Must be located in California. What the Intern Gains Hands-on experience in budget analysis, cost reporting, and commercial financial planning. Practical analytics and business reporting experience using live company data. Direct exposure to cross-functional partners across Sponsorship, Finance, Manufacturing, Customer Racing, and other areas. Experience supporting business decisions through financial and commercial analysis. Opportunity to present work and findings to Commercial Operations leadership. Exposure to the automotive and motorsports industry within a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. The annual base salary range for this position is $56,400.00 - $91,700.00.
