Type:
full-time SKBA Capital Management, a value investing firm based in San Francisco, is seeking an Investment Associate to support investment, trading, and marketing functions.
Position Overview:
Assist members of the investment team by analyzing publicly-listed companies based on valuation judgments generated through fundamental analysis. This role requires strong writing abilities, an understanding of financial accounting, and intellectual curiosity. Trading responsibilities include supporting and backing up the trading function with daily processes, ad-hoc projects, and continual process improvement. For marketing , you will be responsible for generating portfolio data, updating external materials, and maintaining consultant databases generally on a quarterly-basis. This specific role requires a keen attention to detail, proficiency in excel, and a relentless focus on efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Work with analysts and portfolio managers on research projects, including maintaining proprietary databases to help drive the investment process. Prepare financial models for evaluating publicly listed companies based on fundamental, bottom-up company & industry research. Generate and utilize portfolio data (characteristics, sector weights, etc.) to update presentations and other external materials, and maintain data integrity in investment consultant databases. Drive the quarter-end data gathering and synthesis process, updating spreadsheets, databases, marketing materials and communication with team members. Assist in daily trading functions. Become proficient in fixed income and equity trading software. Assist the trading process with ad-hoc projects for process improvements and error reduction.
Qualifications:
At least two years of experience in the financial industry. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities. High level of proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with FactSet and Bloomberg desired. Able to work effectively in teams, while also being a self-starter that thrives in an entrepreneurial environment with limited bureaucracy. Progress towards CFA charter desired.

$85,000 - $95,000
