Job Description

Interim Project Finance Lead - (8-12 month contract) Role Summary The Interim Project Finance Lead will oversee all financial operations for a major Data Center buildout, acting as the primary owner of financial accuracy, controls, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. This position partners closely with Program Management, Infrastructure teams, Corporate Accounting, and Finance leadership to ensure disciplined financial oversight and clear visibility into project performance. Core Responsibilities Serve as the financial authority for the Data Center program, ensuring full oversight of all project?related spending. Manage the program's financial plan across cash and accrual views, including CapEx, OpEx, and prepaid cost structures. Lead monthly financial close activities such as accrual entries, capitalization assessments, and prepaid tracking. Collaborate with Accounting to maintain alignment with corporate accounting standards and audit expectations. Build and maintain dashboards and reporting packages that highlight budget performance, forecasts, and variances. Facilitate recurring financial review sessions with Finance, IT, and program leadership. Conduct ad hoc modeling, scenario analysis, and deep?dive variance investigations. Identify emerging financial risks, trends, and control issues; propose and drive corrective actions. Utilize Excel and Oracle to develop scalable tools for tracking, reporting, and financial governance. Required Background Demonstrated experience in financial planning, forecasting, and budget management, ideally within capital?heavy environments. Strong understanding of project?related accounting treatments (CapEx vs. OpEx, accruals, capitalization, prepaid expenses). Advanced Excel capabilities; strong proficiency with PowerPoint and SharePoint. Familiarity with Oracle Financials or similar enterprise ERP systems. Preferred Experience Financial leadership within large?scale IT infrastructure or data center programs. Exposure to enterprise?level program governance or EPMO environments. Experience producing executive?level reporting and audit?ready financial documentation.
