6 About the Job Junior Investment Analyst Wealth Advisory Firm Reports Directly to: Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Investment Analyst to join our investment team at a growing wealth advisory firm. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure to investment operations and strategy execution while reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer. The Junior Investment Analyst will support day-to-day portfolio management activities, contribute to investment oversight, and help communicate the firm’s investment approach to internal stakeholders and clients. Key Responsibilities Execute and monitor trading activities across client portfolios, ensuring timely and accurate order placement. Conduct manager due diligence, including evaluating third-party investment managers and funds through performance analysis, strategy reviews, risk assessment, and qualitative research. Assist with portfolio rebalancing to maintain target asset allocations, manage risk, and align with client objectives. Track and manage high cash balances in client accounts, identifying opportunities for efficient capital deployment. Perform trade confirmation, reconciliation, and verification to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper settlement. Handle communication responsibilities, including preparing clear written materials (such as reports, memos, and summaries) and delivering verbal presentations on the firm’s investment strategies to the firm’s financial advisors and clients. Support the CIO with ad-hoc investment analysis, market research, performance reporting, and other projects as needed. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. 1â€"2 years of relevant experience (internships or entry-level roles in wealth management, asset management, or financial services). Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex investment concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of financial markets, investment vehicles (stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, alternatives), and portfolio theory. Professional demeanor and a collaborative team player attitude. Preferred Qualifications Progress toward or interest in obtaining the CFA designation. FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 (or Series 66) licenses (or willingness to obtain shortly after joining). Familiarity with portfolio management systems such as Envestnet, trading platforms, and experience with Fidelity Wealthscape. Prior exposure to due diligence processes or operational investment support.
