Job Description
Description This position will perform financial analysis and general accounting functions for a ProAmpac sector. This position will work closely with the Financial Operations team across the sector. Major areas of responsibility will be consolidating and reporting of monthly results, perform monthly closing activities for head office and corporate controllers' group, perform supplier rebate entry. This position will report directly to the Finance Operations Director Essential Duties and Tasks To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Support basic accounting functions (account reconciliation, journal entries, Head Office P&Ls month end close Actual Report maintenance and roll-forward Lead quarterly Bad Debt and Obsolete Inventory process Assist on Chargeback entries (Medical / Dental / Workers compensation and any other centralized accounting entries) Assist Head office teams in all accounting related activities (coding invoices, managing R D invoicing) Support procurement activities: monthly tracking and reporting of supplier rebates Ad-Hoc operations finance hub projects (i.e. R D Credits, Safety Awards, etc.) Assist Hub accountants and work in parallel with Corporate Controller to determine efficiencies, if required Take over from a colleague in case of absence Other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 3-5 + years of experience in accounting, month end closing Solid understanding of GAAP Experience in general accounting Proficient in the use of computer hardware, spreadsheets, and word Solid working knowledge of financial processes and related manufacturing. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Teams and Outlook. Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information. Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establish priorities to meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options. Self-confident, self-motivated, polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment. Chicagoland area preferred. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection as required. This role operates in a professional office environment that may have some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is rarely exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area.
