full-time Financial Analyst Metro Detroit Area | Up to $110K + Benefits A growing organization is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its finance team. This role offers a blend of financial planning and analysis responsibilities along with exposure to key accounting functions. The position will partner closely with leadership to drive financial performance, support strategic decision-making, enhance reporting capabilities, and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Key Responsibilities Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes. Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and strategic initiatives. Perform monthly variance analysis and identify key business drivers, risks, and opportunities. Analyze revenue, margins, operating expenses, profitability, and operational performance metrics. Prepare financial reporting packages, dashboards, and presentations for leadership. Monitor KPIs and provide actionable recommendations to improve business performance. Support cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and capital expenditure planning. Assist with month-end close activities through analysis of financial results and financial statement trends. Review and reconcile financial data to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency. Support financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and general ledger analysis. Maintain organized documentation and assist with audit and compliance requirements. Identify and implement process improvements across finance and accounting functions. Partner with cross-functional teams to support financial and operational initiatives. Perform ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or corporate finance. Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Experience supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting processes. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities. Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with stakeholders across the organization. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification is a plus. Experience in manufacturing, distribution, professional services, or other operationally focused environments. Exposure to ERP systems, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms. Experience working across both accounting and FP&A functions. Demonstrated ability to provide business insights through data-driven analysis.
