Fund Accounting Analyst Kalamazoo, MI Area (Remote – Michigan Residents Only) $26-31/hour Monday-Friday | 35-Hour Workweek Support a mission that makes a difference. We're partnering with a well-established nonprofit organization seeking a Fund Accounting Analyst to join its finance team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure funds are accurately tracked, allocated, and reported. You'll play an important role in supporting grant and donor-funded programs while collaborating with a team dedicated to meaningful work. What You'll Be Doing Monitor project balances and identify funding shortfalls across multiple programs. Analyze project activity to determine the appropriate funding source for expenses. Prepare and process journal entries to allocate costs accurately. Ensure funding is applied according to donor and grant requirements. Review funding documentation and interpret restrictions to maintain compliance. Reconcile funding activity and maintain accurate supporting records. Work with large volumes of financial transactions while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Utilize Excel to organize, analyze, and report financial information, including pivot tables and large spreadsheets. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve funding questions and maintain accurate financial records. What We're Looking For Required Accounting experience with strong journal entry knowledge. Solid understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger accounting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with large datasets and pivot tables. Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to manage priorities independently and meet deadlines. Preferred Experience within a nonprofit organization. Knowledge of fund accounting principles. Familiarity with grant accounting or donor-restricted funding. Experience interpreting funding agreements or grant requirements.
