(WARM NC) Full-time | In Office | Reports to CFO Purpose WARM NC, a thriving home repair nonprofit founded in 1996, is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Coordinator with strong technology aptitude and cost accounting experience. This role plays a critical part in maintainingaccurate financial data, supporting payroll and grant compliance, and ensuring accurate cost accounting across jobs, projects, programs, and grants through effective use of financial systems. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, hands-on cost accounting experience, and a high level of comfort working across multiple software platforms. This position is well‑suited for someone who enjoys working in the details, improving processes, and serving as a key resource for financial data accuracy. Technology Environment This role works daily with cloud based accounting, timekeeping, expense management, and collaboration tools. Comfort navigating multiple platforms, maintaining data integrity, and owning the accuracy and improvement of financial systems is essential for success. The Finance Coordinator is expected to troubleshoot issues independently, support system enhancements, and help improve how financial tools are used across the organization. Key Responsibilities Administer the timekeeping system, including setup, maintenance, and weekly timesheet and payroll processing Maintain and reconcile cost data across jobs, projects, programs, and grant funding sources Assist with grant billing, reimbursement reporting, and audit documentation Design and maintain financial reports and spreadsheets for other staff as needed Support software system improvements, integrations, and data migrations Evaluate workflows and recommend process efficiencies Provide additional accounting or administrative support as needed Required Attributes and Skills 3+ years of accounting experience with a strong understanding of double‑entry general ledger accounting and cost accounting principles - nonprofit experience preferred Hands‑on experience with construction, project, or job cost accounting, including tracking labor, materials, and vendor costs by job, program, or funding source (strongly preferred) Advanced proficiency with accounting systems, including QuickBooks (required), and the ability to quickly learn new platforms Strong technology aptitude, including Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams), cloud‑based file management, and database‑driven systems Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and structured spreadsheets used for cost tracking, reconciliation, and analysis Experience supporting process improvements, system integrations, or workflow automation Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple systems and deadlines Adaptable, analytical, and comfortable troubleshooting issues independently Appreciation for diversity and the ability to build positive, collaborative working relationships A sense of humor and enthusiasm for a mission‑driven organization Role Impact Accurate cost accounting and reliable financial systems are critical to WARM NC's ability to steward grant and donor funds responsibly and support homeowners effectively.
